Your guide to Amazon Flex offers

With Amazon Flex, you can earn on your terms with offer types that fit your life and goals. Most drivers earn $18-$25* an hour, and there are two main ways to earn with Amazon Flex: “blocks” that you can schedule in advance, and “instant offers,” which are deliveries that start right away. Here are details on both types, so you can choose what works best for you.
Blocks – Plan your schedule and work in advance
About blocks: Blocks are ideal when you want to plan ahead and build your schedule around your available time and priorities. Deliveries are organized into specific “blocks” of time that typically last between three and five hours and may become available up to three days before they begin. For this offer type, you’ll see the expected earnings, delivery date, start time, pickup location, and estimated duration before you schedule anything.
Block earnings: Location, customer demand, and tips (if applicable) are factors that influence how much you can earn for a block. When customer demand is high, the block price may increase. If you see only one amount in the earnings section of an offer, that’s the amount you’re guaranteed to earn once you complete the block. Grocery blocks such as Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh blocks are eligible for customer tips and show an earning range rather than one amount. The range is based on Amazon’s contribution and customer tips that delivery partners received for similar blocks in your area. While tips are not guaranteed, the range gives you a good idea of what you could potentially earn. You’ll always receive 100% of your tips from customers.
Scheduling blocks: When blocks are available in your area, you’ll see them on the Offers screen in the Amazon Flex app. Most blocks are available on a first-come first-served basis, so it’s helpful to check the Offers page frequently and quickly schedule blocks you like.
Some blocks may appear as “Reserved offers.” These are listed at the top of the Offers screen, when available, and are exclusive to you for a set period of time.
Instant offers – Complete deliveries right away
About instant offers: Instant offers are a great opportunity to quickly earn any time you don’t have a block scheduled. They are typically grocery deliveries that start immediately after you accept an offer. Instant offers range in length, with an average expected delivery time around an hour and a half. You’ll immediately see the route and estimated mileage, in addition to earnings information, the pickup location, start time, and estimated duration, so you can decide if it’s a good fit for you.
Instant offer earnings: Like blocks, location and customer demand are key factors that influence instant offer earnings. When customer demand is high, instant offer prices may increase. Instant offers are typically eligible for customer tips, so you’ll see an earnings range in those instances. The earnings range is based on Amazon’s contribution and customer tips that delivery partners received for similar blocks in your area. While tips are not guaranteed, the range gives you a good idea of what you could potentially earn. You’ll always receive 100% of your tips from customers.
Accepting instant offers: Instant offers are available in select locations. You can find a list of participating pickup locations in the Learning Portal in the Amazon Flex app. If there’s a participating location in your area, you’ll see the “Available Now” toggle on the “Schedule” screen. Ensure you are within 15 minutes of a pickup location, and turn on the toggle when you’re ready to receive instant offers. You’ll get a notification if there’s an opportunity near you. Since these offers are sent to one delivery partner at a time, you’ll have 60 seconds or less to accept the offer.
*Actual earnings will depend on your location, any tips you receive, how long it takes you to complete your deliveries, and other factors.
